Why I Like Firefox

A letter from my friend, wrote

after read the article about how wonderful Firefox is, I downloaded it. So far so good, I will say.
I wonder is there any tip you can kindly share with me? Any little-known benefits of Firefox, which make it far more superior to IE?

Well, have you felt it's faster to open a web page with Firefox than with IE?

However, the feature of Firefox that I like most is that it is free software. The word 'free' means more than 'no fee', it also means that it's open-source, everybody can exam and modify the source code, and deliver it. The power of 'open' makes it have tremendously much more (volunteer) developers than IE, which makes it more secure because there are thousands (or more) professional developers maintain and enhance it worldwide. It's a well-known fact that open-source software, such as Linux, MySQL, FreeBSD, and so on, are more secure than closed ones. Recent years, more and more companies such as IBM, Google, and SUN embrace open-source software and open their products'. Free software have had more and more influence and have become more and more important in the world. I adore the value and the belief of free software so I'm for them. A lot of people in poor countries can not afford commercial software while free software enable them have the chance to become modernized, informative. In this capitalism world, free software may be an alternative way to establish fairness, justness, and equality. You can find more information about free software here.

As a user, the feature of Firefox I like second most are its security (it is the safest browser, and this is not merely a bluff), productivity, the ability of customization (learn more). You can find a simple comparison between Firefox and IE here. Firefox is also more stable than IE. Firefox crashes less whereas IE crashes all the time. Most of all, it has a lot of Add-ons which make Firefox more powerful, convenient, interesting, and charming.

As a programmer, the feature of Firefox I like third most are the add-ons that easy the process of developing and it supports the international standards very well (unlike IE which usually supports its way or no way).
